OneWebDay

Upcoming Events for OneWebDay

CTN Bay Area and our partners have organized lots of events for OneWebDay in September.

OneWebDay events are organized by a global network of partner organizations and individual activists committed to broadening the public’s awareness of Internet and Web issues while deepening a culture of participation in building a Web that works for everyone. There are plenty of ways for you to help!

COMPUTER HELP DAY FOR CANTONESE-SPEAKING SENIORS
Saturday, Sept 19
The Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center strives to increase technology use by offering computer classes to youth and seniors. But many Sunset residents may have non-working computer equipment and are not able to access the Internet in their own homes.

At this event, volunteers will provide one session of free technical support.  Volunteers will also provide one-on-one computer and Internet tutoring. Participants will register in advance for whatever services they need. Sign up to help tutor or provide technical advice.

SCHOOL LOOP TRAINING
Saturday, Sept 19, 9am, 10:30am, 12noon, 1:30pm OR 3pm
If you are a volunteer at a public computer lab or a public school you can help parents and caregivers learn how to use the new SFUSD home school communications tool at a one-hour training session presented by the SFUSD technology department. Sign up here for one of the training sessions.

COMPUTER HELP FOR SPANISH-SPEAKERS
Tuesday, Sept 22 noon - 5pm
Volunteers work one-on-one with Spanish-speaking adults at the Homeless Prenatal Program to help them learn about online resources for job searches, health information and education tools. Sign up to tutor.
