Adults | Internet Basics | Spanish | YouthThe Information Age is changing our lives. Business, civic life, education, and communities have been profoundly affected by the Internet. In an effort to help adults participate and attain economic self-sufficiency, the City of Seattle and CTTAB have created a PowerPoint presentation called the Information Age Education Campaign.
The presentation is an outreach tool that targets under-served communities and encourages them to learn to use computers and the Internet. Its target audiences include low-income communities, seniors, immigrant communities, the computer-phobic, and those who, for whatever reason, have not been able to take advantage of new technology. It is an introduction to basic communications tools and free or almost-free training.
Jean-Michel Basquiat
Adults | Art | History/Social Studies | Spanish | YouthJean-Michel Basquiat was an extraordinary artist who created paintings and drawings filled with imagery that describes his ideas about life and the world around him. He drew upon a variety of skills and interests that he employed and expressed in complex ways, and he created his own rules about art, demonstrating that there is not one "right" way to express oneself or to approach art. Through interactive explorations of Basquiat's paintings, an interactive biography of his life, a digital painting tool, and online discussion forum, teens can gain insights into Basquiat's life and worldview—while reflecting upon their own.

Adults | Computer Basics | Internet Basics | Microsoft Office Skills | Small Business/E-commerce | Spanish | Workforce DevelopmentIn 2004, Microsoft released the Unlimited Potential (UP) Community Learning Curriculum. CTCNet proposed to test the curriculum by working with five CTCNet members to review, edit as needed, and field-test the curriculum at their centers. The project and the CTCs produced 14 modified curricula adapted for specific populations that commonly attend centers. Two of the curricula are available in Spanish.
Microsoft Tutorials
Adults | Computer Basics | Internet Basics | Microsoft Office Skills | SpanishAs part of Microsoft's efforts to promote digital inclusion worldwide, the Unlimited Potential (UP) Community Learning curriculum provides the foundation for teaching basic to intermediate technology skills in a hands-on manner. The curriculum aims to help individuals gain critical twenty-first century workforce skills needed for today's "knowledge economy" and to broaden digital inclusion. Lessons may be taught in a classroom-style setting, or as part of a self-paced learning program.
Working with Presentations
Adults | Microsoft Office Skills | Seniors | Small Business/E-commerce | SpanishWhen you have information or ideas to share with an audience, you must do some kind of presentation. You could just talk and wave your hands around a lot. But, most of us find it helpful to to see your points up on a screen from slides or transparencies. Printed handout sheets to take home and to make notes on during your presentation are also very helpful. All of these supplements to your words can be created using presentation software  (also called presentation graphics).
