Volunteer Orientation

June 21, 2010 - 6:00pm

Many San Franciscans don't have the Internet access or computer skills to locate the information you are reading. Some aren't able to access critical life-changing services and opportunities that we take for granted.

Are you interested in helping underserved communities overcome barriers to digital inclusion? Do you have at least a basic understanding of how to use a computer? If you'd like to learn more about the Digital Inclusion Movement and how you can help, attend a free orientation hosted by Community Technology Network (CTN).

CTN's Volunteer Program works with a community of dedicated volunteers to connect organizations that provide underserved communities with basic technology services to the resources they need. CTN Volunteers help people like Leander, a displaced victim of Hurricane Katrina, gain access to and apply for essential services.

At this orientation, prospective volunteers will have an opportunity to learn more about CTN, its volunteer program, and the Digital Inclusion Movement. Hear stories about how volunteers have changed lives, connect with other people who are interested in this cause, and find out how you can become engaged with CTN and make a difference today!

To register for this orientation, please E-mail Winifred@ctnbayarea.org  with your first name, last name, and E-mail address. Please include "Registration June 21" in the subject This information is required for registration. You will receive a confirmation E-mail including details about the event within 72 hours. This orientation is mandatory for all applicants. Applicants who have not attended an orientation will not be considered. All participants must be over 18 and have at least a basic understanding of how to use a computer.
