Exciting Partnership Opportunities With Schools
In 2002, California voters passed Proposition 49, also known as the After School Education and Safety Initiative. This proposition increases state funding to after school programs to $550 million. Although community-based organizations cannot apply for funds directly, there is an opportunity to partner with local school districts for funding. The California Department of Education is responsible for the allocation of funds. Schools that receive funding will be looking for potential partners in January.
